If you are like most men who have more than one really good buddy, congratulations, you have lots of good choices.  You may have one certain person in mind to be your best man but it’s always best to discuss the possibility of being a best man at your wedding with all of your closest friends to see who may fit the bill the best.

One might be better at planning your bachelor party than the other, and so on.  You want to choose the best man for the job because it is more than just standing beside you for support during the wedding ceremony.  Choose the friend who you think will uphold the standards you have set for yourself at a bachelor party.  If you think one friend will go against your wishes and have dancers come to your bachelor party, just don’t choose him for the job.  The last thing you need is a disaster at your bachelor party.

The best man is responsible for making sure you make it to the church on time, so choose someone who knows how to run on a schedule without being late to everywhere he goes.  Your best man will also be responsible for holding the ring you plan on giving your bride as a symbol of your love, don’t let someone who is unorganized have this job because it is too important for your wedding day.

If you can’t narrow it down to just one choice, let the two of them decide between themselves who will hold the position of being your best man.  This way neither one of them will feel like you chose someone else over them and there will be no hard feelings when the wedding is over because they will have decided it for themselves.
